Girls Who Code Club Lead
What is my Girls Who Code Club and why did I lead it?
I've always been fascinated about how technology dramatically improved people’s lives. Since I was 6 I started to learn coding and try to create useful apps, fun games and animations. It is a lot of fun! However I found that there were not too many other girls who shared the same interests as mine. After I read about how large the gender gap in STEM jobs are (women making up only 28% of workers) I started my journey in trying to close this gap. I started a Girls Who Code Club at my school to share my passion and knowledge in programming as well as promote women in STEM.
My school was very supportive about my club and promoted my club on their social media page. My club turned out to be very successful. Some teachers even brought their own kids to come to learn! After my club ended, many girls were very excited about what they learned and decided to continue to learn about tech. It is extremely rewarding to me to be able to inspire girls in my community and show the world that girls can!
A game that everyone in the Girls Who Code Club collaborated on together.
In the Girls Who Code Club, we learned about how to use state machines to help us program fun games!

Girls Who Code - SpaceX Female Engineer Presentation
We attended a SpaceX zoom webinar lead by Caitlin, a rocket scientist. We were so excited to learn about SpaceX's rocket program directly from someone working at SpaceX! During the webinar, we learned so many new and exciting facts. For example, we learned about the Droneship Recovery from launch to vertical landing! There were also many interesting facts about the Dragon Ship take-off, SpaceX factories and more! Everything was very inspiring.
Teaching Assistant Internship
I was selected into my schools teaching assistant internship program where I helped teachers lead summer camps. Some of the camps I helped lead include space camp and spy camp.
I had a lot of fun working with kids and was happy to contribute to my school community! This experience was very enriching and I developed a lot of critical thinking and problem solving skills.
I also made many friends with the kids in the camps and other teaching assistants in the program!
